In the fast lane

‘Check in time’ may have been late in the day for our work at Cambridge’s newest motor lodge. However we unpacked everything with speed – and the results are worth checking out.

There was a bit of an ‘eleventh hour’ feel to the start of the Kelly Road Motor Lodge project. Livingston Building approached us with an urgent request, their original supplier having let them down.

The design brief was relatively straightforward but the size of the project and time constraints meant we had to keep on our toes. The complete package had to be produced and delivered within a month, with a fortnight then available for installation. After thorough scoping by Brian Mullaghan, our contracts manager, our installation team got down to work.

Such projects like these are perfectly suited to our modular system, with the Urban Forte balustrade and three stair placements quickly assembled and installed across a total space of 200 l/m.

Archimedia were thrilled with our initial recommendation and the final result, our advice on fixing and set-out resulting in the balustrade tying in well with the structural steelwork.

Having chosen Urban Group based on our reputation for exacting professionalism and quick turnaround times Livingston were happy to see we could meet expectations. It’s why the busy construction company has now come back to us with further work on other high-end builds.
