New fencing no smokescreen

The new fire station in Wanaka provides a much-needed asset to the rapidly growing local community. We provided fencing to match the style and security needs of this important facility.

Designed by Mason & Wales Architects, the three-bay station is constructed in classic Otago style with cedar and stone cladding and an eye-catching slanting roof that echoes the slope of the hill beyond. In its new location the station will greatly improve the operations of the Wanaka Volunteer Fire Brigade.

We supplied boundary fencing for the site. All of this fencing was made to measure, requiring fully welded construction. With the varying ground levels at this location this was not an easy task. Careful scoping pre-production was vital.

The architect wanted to make sure fencing didn’t unnecessarily cover up the beautiful surrounding environment. Our button top design for the fence was therefore specified. This feature ensured the fencing could provide adequate protection to the fire station without imposing on the landscape.

Custom fabricated and then powder coated in-house, our fencing was delivered to Wanaka before being installed by one of our long-standing Otago clients.
