A shining light

As part of the Wellington City Council’s remarkable Regent Park social housing rebuild project we supplied both handrails and balustrades.

Built with families, community and safety at the forefront, the project utilised light and space in many of its design aspects.

In keeping with this approach we were contracted for the fabrication of aluminium handrails and glass balustrades for the internal stairwells and external balconies. We supplied a total of 450 linear metres of glazed balustrades – which were pre-assembled off site for efficient installation.

The housing development has justifiably garnered much attention, both here in New Zealand as well as overseas. Notably, in the recent World Architecture News Awards, Regent Park was one of only six completed projects, out of 846 entries, from 51 countries, to make the shortlist in the Residential category.
